I am..Nancy… I consider myself as a very optimistic person. In my family my dad and I are the most optimistic. We like to think that there is always a solution for every problem. I always try to look the positive side of things. One of the main things I’ve found out of optimistic people is that they don’t stress as much as other people. I believe that one has no reason to stress, if there’s a solution, there’s a solution, if there’s not, then why stress out. So, I try to live my life without stress, even though sometimes it’s impossible to not stress out, but like I said earlier, I try not to.
I am really social person so, I like interacting with other people. I also like to help them if there’s anything I can help with. I feel and I think we all feel good when we do something that helps someone else. For example I felt really good when I was working on doing my externship for my medical assisting certificate, at a clinic called Dr Fred & Mary Mansubi sometimes, sometimes Hispanics would take their kids to the doctor and they didn’t know how to communicate with the doctor or they didn’t understand what the doctor was diagnosing that their kids had, so I try to help them as much as I could and at the end of the day I was just really glad to be able to help people.
I also like to be creative. I like to come up with different ideas that can give a more interesting view to the project; but I’m more like a hands on kind of person. I like to utilize my hands and move around. I am not a really techy person, so I’m trying to get used to this this blog thing. People have told me that I am also a perfectionist person, and I guess that, that’s kind of true I have always say that if someone is going to do something as might as well do it the right way or do it good, if not, then why even bother to do it if it’s going to come out not as expected. On the other hand if someone does put effort to do something but it doesn’t come out the best, I strongly disagree with people that tells them right in their faces that what they did was not good or just a bad job. I don’t like to make people feel bad. And I don’t like to see people making feel other bad. I strongly dislike injustices. I believe that everyone deserves and should be treated equally.
Now, on my educational side, this is my second semester in San Jose City College. I’m planning to get my AA degree in communications and then transfer to San Jose State University and go for my master’s degree in education with concentration in communication. For me, my short term goal that I have is to graduate from City College and in my long term goal is to graduate from San Jose State University.
Thanks for a great post Nancy! I enjoyed reading about your opinion on optimism. I agree that trying to stay focused on the positive is a very important outlook to have on life. It's easy to be a cynic! In fact, I believe it is much easier to tear down people and ideas and identify what doesn't work, but it takes great courage and intelligence to see through difficulty and identify possibility. You have some great goals! I will do my best to help you achieve your dreams! Ms. K
